When you have multiple video clips and want to combine them in a specific order — or trim unwanted parts and rearrange the sequence — the XBRUSH Timeline Video Editor handles it all in the browser, no installation needed.
Here's how to go from separate clips to a single exported video, step by step.
Step 1: Open the Video Editor from the Edit Tab
From the XBRUSH Ad Studio top navigation, click the Edit tab. This opens the video editor where you can view previously saved projects or start a new one.
Step 2: Editor Layout Overview
The editor is divided into three areas:
- Left sidebar: Media source browser and editing tool menu
- Center canvas: Preview of the current playhead position
- Bottom timeline: Where you place, arrange, and trim clips
Step 3: Left Sidebar Menu Icons
The icons on the left sidebar, from top to bottom:
- Project: Browse and manage your saved projects.
- Folder: Access images, videos, and audio you've uploaded or created in XBRUSH. Filtered by All, Image, Video, Audio, and Upload tabs.
- Video: Select a video clip to add to the timeline.
- Image: Select an image to add to the timeline.
- Audio: Add background music or sound effects.
- Text: Add text overlays to your video.
- Settings (bottom left): Adjust editor preferences.
Step 4: Select Your First Clip
Click the Folder or Video icon to open your media library. Use the tabs to filter by type — All, Image, Video, or Audio — then select the clip you want to add to the timeline.
Step 5: Preview and Add to Timeline
After selecting a clip, a popup shows a preview. Confirm the content looks right, then click Add to place the clip on the timeline.
Step 6: Edit Clips — Speed, Volume, and Trim
Once a clip is on the timeline, the left panel shows editing options: speed, volume, and visual adjustments. Drag clips on the timeline to reorder them. Pull either end of a clip inward to trim its start or end point.
Step 7: Add More Clips
Repeat the same process for each additional clip. Each time, a preview popup appears — confirm and click Add to stack it on the timeline.
Step 8: Review and Finalize the Timeline
Once all clips are in place, play back the full timeline to check the flow. If any transition feels off or a section runs too long, trim or rearrange before moving to export.
Change Resolution — Pick the Right Aspect Ratio
Click the Aspect Ratio button in the top right of the editor to open the ratio selector. The canvas and exported file will adjust to match your selection.
- 16:9: YouTube and standard widescreen
- 9:16: Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts, and vertical short-form
- 1:1: Instagram square feed
- 4:5: Instagram vertical feed
Save and Export
When editing is complete, click Save in the top right to keep the project, or click Export to download the finished video as a single MP4 file.
Wrap-up
The XBRUSH Timeline Video Editor runs entirely in the browser. Import clips from your media library, arrange them on the timeline, trim what you don't need, pick a resolution, and export — all without switching to a separate app.
If you've already generated images or videos inside XBRUSH, they're available directly in the folder panel, so you can move from creation to editing within the same workspace.
